![]() ![]() In Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment, players will play as Kirito as he fights through all the levels of Aincrad in order to break free from being locked within the virtual game world. The series follows the simulated Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game gameplay from the original Sword Art Online storyline. 14 of the anime, so if you want to get the games, at least watch some of the anime so you are not lost.Bandai Namco is bringing both Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment and Sword Art Online: Lost Song to the West on the PlayStation 4 in fall 2015, with the latter of the two also getting a PS Vita release.īoth titles feature original stories based Sword Art Online, which started out as a light novel back in 2009 and became an anime in 2012. I really have strong thoughts S1 (as it has a lot of flaws) but I really enjoyed the first half of S1 and S2 as a whole is strong (with it being really great toward the second half of it). Not sure if the English Dub is on Netflix (think it is for S1) but you can watch both seasons on either streaming service. ![]() If you want to watch the anime, its on Netflix and Crunchyroll (both seasons). So which one is better? Both have unique issues but I enjoyed both a lotīut to be honest, I would recommend people play Hollow Fragment first over Lost Song it has the stronger combat system and the most stuff to do (you can literally spend 150+ hours getting everything XD). The bosses are also recycled for dungeons, and while that isn't a problem, its still annoying. Not long into the game, you revisited the same looking locations at least 20 times. Heck, you can use Magic now so ranged combat is more viable then it was in Hollow Fragment!īut.the game re-uses foes a lot and the dungeons suffer from this too. On one hand, it feels great button mashing to kill some creatures and you still have the Skill System that you had in Hollow Fragment. The combat system being different is both a good thing and a bad thing. The flying mechanics are really fun and flying around in the first location felt amazing on my Vita. It still has issues but its an improvement over Hollow Fragment's plot. He gets annoyed when people bother him/put him in odd situations, his friends have great chemistry with one another, and the plot with the game-exclusive characters is enjoyable. With a proper translation and stronger characterization, every feels better and I enjoy Kirtio more here. Lost Song fixes issues I had with Hollow Fragment, with the story being a lot better. Bosses felt rewarding to fight too, as they all felt unique and different, leading to encounters felling fresh. The combat system is really rewarding with its various systems (melee attacks, Switch ability, Party system, skills and Sword Skills, ect) and it has massive locations to explore across Alicard and the Hollow Area. Outside of the story, the game is very strong in every other area. Bamco saw the issues/feedback about that translation so when they ported the game to PS4 latter on, they gave it an updated translation. ![]() Something to note is that the PS Vita version has the Engerish translation.but the PS4 version doesn't have it. Kirtio being such a tool is distracting and having every female fawn over him is strange considering the games placement within the SAO Story (post Episode 13-14 where he is in a relationship with Asuna). Hollow Fragment's story is a joke thanks to the Engerish despite some funny scenes every now and then. Both have issues but they each do unique things right. ![]()
